E-cigarettes have been under scrutiny since its discovery and even now, not all countries favor using these tobacco alternatives. But, the public health of England (PHE) has come up with a new proposition that these must be included in prescription in a couple of years due to its staggering benefits for smokers. A research by PHE states that e-cigars are 95% less harmful than smoking and hospitals must come forward to sell these and also have separate areas where people can vape. It even asks hospitals to permit patients staying for a long time to be allowed to smoke (e-cigars) inside their private rooms. All these being on one side, independent tobacco experts are hesitant to wave a green signal overruling the risks posed by e-cigarettes. While some claim that e-cigarettes induce the younger generation to start smoking, the PHE research suggests that less than 1% of people who have never smoked used e-cigarettes regularly while the number of young smokers too steadily declined after using these vape pens. Vape Pens An e-cigarette is a battery-operated device that gives out vaporized nicotine or non-nicotine alternatives for the smoker to inhale. The device resembles a pen or cigar and is reusable/disposable. The main aim of the device is to give the user the feeling of inhaling tobacco smoke, without the smoke. The U.S. FDA started enforcing rules on these vape pens after some serious research suggested that using them might be hazardous to health. E-cigarettes claim to avoid most of the health hazards of normal cigarettes and studies even support the fact that these help smokers to quit. Some other studies prove that while e-cigarettes offer only a slight advantage to smokers who wish to quit, they are greatly helpful for those who want to cut down on smoking. When people smoke tobacco cigars, they inhale more than 70 smoke constituents that are proven to cause cancer and e-cigarettes are said to be comparatively less harmful than cigarette smoking. Reasons Not to Use these Cigar Pens There are not one or two, but many more reasons to avoid using these cigarette alternatives.
E-cigarettes are tobacco products and using tobacco is not safe. The FDA disposes e-cigarettes to the same rules as tobacco products. Research suggests that e-cigarettes are less harmful than normal cigarettes but also stresses on the fact that nicotine in any form is addictive. It is best to use such products with caution until we know more about it and have authentic evidence supporting their use. Comments are closed.
