Eating out piles up calories if we don’t stick to portion sizes. Just assume this scenario: You are having your cheat meal outside with your friends at your favorite hangout or eating dinner at an excellent restaurant for a special occasion. Having completed the appetizers and main course, the waiter comes to your table to take off the plates. You pray to yourself that he/she does not ask you that one tempting question. But your prayers are not heard and as the waiter clears the table, he/she asks you if you would like to have some dessert or see the dessert menu. Oh! You are doomed now and unable to think clearly. Already on a diet plan, you have chosen the rest of your dishes carefully keeping control of portion sizes too. But this is surely a difficult question and a hard-to-resist one! Others at the table have already pounced over the opportunity immediately and it is a special occasion after all! How can you give ‘no’ as an answer? Restaurants mostly offer dessert options that are sugary, contain refined grains and unhealthy fats, but this should not deter your goal and pave way for eating an unhealthy dessert. While cookies, pies and cakes might be the norm of any restaurant dessert menu option, these are not the only options. Try creating your own dessert by requesting the waiter for the three ingredients listed below. Your creation would make heads turn and focus on your dinner plate. It might even may one or two jealous of your ideal food choices and crave for your dessert at the end of the day. Fruit: A naturally sweet option that adds a burst of colors to your plate and instantly makes you smile. You can even choose dried fruits, but here again you need to stick to your portions. Nuts: Nuts are crunchy, healthy, tasty and satisfying. Every nut contains a generous amount of healthy fat and protein. Available in numerous varieties and nutrition compositions, adding them to your personal creation can make your dessert a nutty delight! Check out the various nutty options at www.firsteatright.com.
