Be Socially Connected to Stay Physically Active

Explore different physical activities to shed away monotony
Trekking with Friends is a Great Fitness Action
​Walking is the best exercise form, no doubt about it. But, you can be physically active with many other interesting options as well to ensure good health. It doesn’t even need to be hard or involve the gym.
  1. Have strong social connection: By active social network, we do not mean chatting, sharing posts or posting photos in social network sites. Catch a group of friends and plan for a hiking trip, group aerobic classes or play a game of beach volley ball to keep yourself in high spirits.
  2. Keep moving at workplace: Working at office does not mean that you stick to your seat like glue from morning till evening. You can stand and take phone calls, use the printer farther away from you, use the stairs instead of the elevator when you go for lunch and do some stretches every hour.
  3. Sign up for a class: Walking or hitting the gym is common. Maybe you can sign up for a dance class, Zumba class, do tai chi or take up some sports activity.
  4. Hit the pool: If you want to do something relaxing and cool, you can hit the pool for some swim or try water aerobics too.
  5. You can even form online communities where you might get in touch with like-minded people who are interested to take up fitness to the next level, maybe take it up as a passion just like you. Together, you can enroll for marathons, walkathons and other social events that promote fitness and encourage being active.
